The most expensive spring destinations in Europe

Travellers planning a trip to Amsterdam this spring may have to dig deep in their pockets for accommodation, with a survey revealing the Dutch capital to be the most expensive city in Europe for hotel stays throughout the season.

2018. For each city, the survey identified the rate for the cheapest available double room. Only hotels with a central location and with a rating of three or more stars were included in the survey’s findings.

With an average rate of €192 euros per night for the cheapest available double room, Amsterdam came top of the rankings. The second and third most expensive cities, according to the survey, were Copenhagen and Dublin, with average rates of €162 and €142 euros, respectively.

At the other end of the scale, the cheapest city in Europe for hotel stays during spring time is Istanbul, with an average rate of just €31 euros per night – more than five times more affordable than Amsterdam. Also affordable are Moscow and Krakow, where visitors can expect to find a room for less than €50 euros per night.
