The Godney Gathering

Garslade Farm, 15 July,
Over one day in July, you can get the Glasto experience without the expense, the multi-day slog and the ludicrous trenches of mud. The Godney Gathering is a micro festival taking place at Somerset’s Garslade Farm on the outskirts of mystical Glastonbury. The event has expanded its 2017 programme to fill seven stages, including the acoustic stage, the ever-popular Silent Disco Dome and a brand new comedy and cabaret stage. The kids’ stage has lots on to keep the younger folk entertained, including circus skills workshops, craft sessions and a children’s disco. Expect music from around 50 acts, such as the Dub Pistols, Nathan Grisdale and hilarious rocker headliners The Darkness. Tickets start at just £20 and kids go free. Happily, there’s also a maximum price of £3.50 on all alcoholic drinks – not your usual festival rip-off. If you want to make a night of it and bring the tent, you can book yourself a space on the neighbouring Garslade Farm campsite.
