28 - 29 July, Gilcombe Farm
Close to the small town of Bruton is some of the UK’s most verdant and tranquil countryside, but for two days each summer this peaceful setting is interrupted by a magical festival. Since its inaugural edition in 2006, Farmfest has become one of Somerset’s most popular celebrations of music, playing host to an assortment of emerging and established acts and attracting up to 5,000 revellers. The festival’s watchword is ‘diverse’, with several musical genres on display, including electronic, indie and folk, with a notable leaning towards the ‘left-of-mainstream’. Held on a pocket-sized field, there are several stages and tents, including one dedicated to acoustic performances, while the festival programme also features early morning workouts, children’s workshops, comedy and poetry, and plenty of food and drink. There’s a family campsite and visitors can either bring their own equipment or rent on-site. Day tickets start at £59 for adults, £39 for ages 13-17 and there's family tickets available too.
