Royal Cornwall is an amazing Show

|

It is a place where farmers bring their prize- winning bull, show the skills of their sheep dog, or marvel at the wide array of show animals. The animal categories contain dogs, goats, ponies, horses, cattle, rabbits, cage-birds and bees to mention a few. Earlier this week I spoke with Steve Michell from Marketing at RCS to get his take on the event.

“The Royal Cornwall Show is by far the biggest event in the Cornish calendar. It’s one of the UKs finest agricultural shows, it is three crammed full days of things to see and do. We have a fantastic line up of main ring entertainment including a motocross team, who featured in this year’s Britain’s Got Talent series, the Mounted Games and a ‘man-versus-horse’ tug of war challenge, not to mention the amazing RAF Falcons parachute display team.”

If you want to buy a tractor or a car you can speak to the sales men and book a test drive. If you are passionate about crafts, why not browse the Craft Tent? Want to see Bridesmaid dresses and Wedding Dresses – meet the local vendors. There is a huge array of businesses available over the three days at Royal Cornwall show. Or in this centenary year experience a piece of history first-hand as you explore trench-life in WWI in 1914?

Cornish people are rightly proud of their rich food heritage and this can all be sampled and tasted in the Food Tent. Some of the Cornish-grown and Cornish-produced food and drink include – smoked cheeses; artisan breads; butter; Cornish clotted cream; locally made chocolate; hand-made ice-cream; fudges; jams and chutneys. Of course you can wash-down those tasty bites with a locally brewed beer or a small glass of indigenous cider?

To keep you entertained take a seat in the main arena for the show jumping or the heavy horses display and make sure you catch the daily prize-giving parade. So come along and have a day out for your whole family you won’t forget. If it has been an annual event for over 200 years is bound to be hugely enjoyable for all.

The show is on 5th, 6th and 7th of June from 8.30am to 6.30pm
