MySliceFest: London’s Largest Outdoor Pizza Festival

|

That’s because, for one day only, the 85 acres that surround Wembley Stadium will be taken over by London’s largest outdoor pizza festival.

Featuring a wide range of entertainment, including live DJs, beerpong, giant connect four and fairground rides, the event’s main course (and starter…and dessert) will be the famous flatbread dish said to have originated in Naples, Italy in the 18th century.

As a side note, in 2009, upon Italy’s request, Neapolitan pizza was safeguarded in the European Union as a Traditional Speciality Guaranteed dish. Needless to say, in light of recent events in Britain, we won’t be applying for the same status for any of our national dishes!

But back to the event in hand, which is expected to attract up to 10,000 visitors. That’s a hell of a lot of mouths to feed, and the organisers are well aware, inviting a vast number of independent pizza companies from London and across the UK to come and set up stalls, where they will sell pizza by the slice, with prices starting at £4 a pop.

Popular toppings will, of course, be available, but for the more adventurous, there will also be more left-field offerings including pizza cones, pizza popcorn and Nutella pizza. There’ll also be a Man vs Pizza competition to separate the wheat from the chaff.

As for the music, the cool kids among you may wish to hear about the DJ line-up for the event, which includes Dj Luck & MC Neat, Dj Cable, Dj Rugrat, Sammy Porter, and Martin 2 Smoove.

Additional live music will also be belted out from the likes of Jessica Agombar, Bluey Robinson and Delilah.

MySliceFest takes place at Wembley Park on Saturday 30th July
