Quick Review: Hotel Vista, Vrsar (from GBP 93 per night)

0The seaside village of Vrsar in Croatia’s Istrian region has attracted large numbers of tourists for decades – and it continues to provide a variety of accommodation options, including the 3-star Hotel Vista that we’ve reviewed below.

What’s the location like?

The hotel is perched idyllically on a quiet hill in Vrsar’s old town, just a five-minute walk from the beach, marina and buzzing waterfront. You get stunning sea views without the noise, and everything’s within easy reach.

How would you describe the style and character?

It’s clean, bright  and unfussy, with nautical blues and whites lending a cheerful look and feel. It’s all fairly basic and a little dated, but everywhere is spotles and the sea views steal the show. Just don’t expect design-mag chic and you won’t be disappointed.

What services and facilities are on offer?

There’s no pool or spa here, but you do get free parking, Wi-Fi and a small sun terrace with knockout views. The 24-hour reception is ever helpful, and bikes are available for hire at affordable rates.

What about the guest rooms?

The rooms are clean and uncluttered, with comfy beds and air conditioning. Some have balconies with sea views, while others face the town. Storage is limited and the décor won’t win any awards, but they’re perfectly decent for sleeping, showering and crashing after a day out exploring.

How’s the food and drink?

Breakfast is served buffet-style on the terrace, with a decent spread of cold cuts, pastries, fruit and good coffee. There’s no bar or restaurant for lunch or dinner, which might disappoint some, but Vrsar’s harbourfront eateries are a short stroll away.

Is it value for money?

Hotel Vista offers good value for what you get. It’s clean, well-located and charming in an understated kind of way. You won’t get luxury frills, but for the price, the sea views and easy access to Vrsar’s main attractions it’s a smart choice.
