London Hotel Rates Soar for the UEFA Champions League Final

A new survey by CheapRooms.co.uk has checked hotel rates in London for May 25th, the day of the UEFA Champions League final. Perhaps not surprisingly, they are soaring at this late hour.
As one might expect, about 85% of hotels in London are already sold out for the championship game. The remaining few hotels that are still boasting vacancies are charging about 146% more than usual for the privilege of staying in one of their available rooms. And that’s just for starters. Some are whacking last-minute guests with even higher rate increases. (See the table below.)
Currently, to secure the cheapest available room in London, would-be guest will have spend around GBP 250 per night on May 25. Committing to a 2- or 3-night stay, however, will drop the cost of some rooms to under GBP 200 per night.
The following table shows the 10 London hotels with the biggest rate increases for the Champions League final this May 25th. For comparison purposes, average rates for June 1st, the weekend following the big game, were established and determined as Regular Rates. All rates were established on May 20 via the leading hotel-booking sites.
